Last week I had an ultrasound and it showed my dermoid cyst is now 5.5 cm. Many people get cysts on their ovaries that just go away on their own. But dermoid cysts have to be removed surgically. Usually after they grow larger than 5 cm they need to be removed. We've been following a dermoid cyst on my left ovary for a while now. I had an MRI last year that confirmed it was a 4 cm dermoid cyst. I'm waiting to hear back from my Gynaecologist now. I really don't want to have surgery. Gastroparesis makes taking pain killers really challenging. I've also never gone under general anesthetic before and I don't know how I would react with my Dysautonomia and low blood pressure. I'm afraid it could cause another set back and a flare up of my other health issues.

Good luck! I am much, much older than you and am facing a total hysterectomy and BSO and I'm not terribly excited about having another surgery with POTS.
