In order to make going out for sushi possible, I slept in and spent the whole day resting on the couch. I didn't even shower (ew!). I knew that I needed to save all of my energy for going out to eat.
As dinner approached, I started fasting and took extra meds to help the nausea. Because sushi isn't the most appealing when you're really nauseous...
We had a fun time at sushi, and I did alright. If someone had seen me out for dinner, they might not have even believed that I struggle with my health.
It's the same for any time I leave the house or spend time with friends. I start preparing the day before. For example, showering makes me tired so I shower the day before. Then leading up to the event, I don't do anything but rest.
I forget sometimes that other people only see the tip of the iceberg. My friends see me after I've been preparing all day to hang out with them. They dont usually see how much effort it takes, or how hard I crash after.
Looks can be deceiving. Cliche, but I'm totally guilty for judging others in the past who said they were sick but didn't really look like it. It's so easy to assume someone is lazy or just a drama queen when you don't see the whole picture.
