What's New...

I've been feeling a lot more lightheaded and fainting more than usual lately. The heat was really affecting me so we bought an air conditioner, which has helped a bit.
I've been referred to a POTS specialist in Calgary, named Dr. Raj. He's one of the best doctors for POTS in North America, and has written many articles about POTS. I'm waiting to hear back from their office still.

I've been able to hang out a lot with my friend Sarah (who also has POTS). She's able to drive so she often drives me to my appointments. We often joke that we're the blind leading the blind.

The other day my friend picked me up and drove me around in her 1969 Barracuda that she restored. That was a lot of fun. When we got home I was so exhausted I fell asleep around 8.

Next time I'll try to remember to take a picture of the outside of the car too...
And I gave Archie a little hair cut. You can see his eyes again!

I'm happy for you that you've been having so much fun. I love your little Archie. Where did you get Archie?

Thanks, we love him a lot too ;) We got him from a local rescue group who rescues dogs in California kill shelters.

Hi Lisa,

I've found your blog a couple of weeks ago, and I've really enjoyed reading about your life. I admire how you manage to stay positive and smiling despite everything. I have a different kind of chronic illness than you do, but you still inspire me to keep fighting and try to smile through all the hardships. Thank you, and please continue being the amazing human being you are!

Lots of love,
Jenna

HI Lisa! My 17 yr old daughter has POTS symptoms. I found your blog while looking for Dr. Raj. We are also in Calgary :) I am wondering how long it takes to get to see him? She is going to uni overseas in the fall and I am not sure she would get an appt in time. I am so glad I found your blog! I am a member of a couple of the facebook groups too. What a nasty condition this is!! I wish you all the best in your feeling better quest!!!

My family doctor sent Dr Raj my referral a couple weeks ago and we still haven't heard back. I'm hoping it isn't too long of a wait.

I hope your daughter can get in to see him before she leaves

I just remembered, there is an Alberta POTS support group on Facebook. If you haven't already joined, they might be able to tell you more about Dr Raj's waiting time.

Best of luck!
