Compression Stockings
Compression stockings aren't just for old ladies. My friend has Dr. Who Compression leggings! You can find ones that are discrete, funky, sexy, and colourful. So stop imagining your granny's stockings.
I have a pairs in 15-25 mmHg , 20-30 mmHg, and 30-40 mmHg strength. I wear the lower compression ones around the house and the higher ones when I go out. I prefer the cotton stockings that go below the knees as I find others tend to irritate my legs. While waist high compression stockings are supposed to be good for POTS, they really upset the stomach if you already have stomach issues.
Compression stockings really do make a difference. Not only is my blood pressure slightly better but it takes longer for me to feel the effects of POTS. In particular I don't get headaches nearly as quickly when I wear them.
Many extended health plans cover compression stockings. My very basic insurance plan through my school covered two pairs at 100% per year. That would've been $360! Yes, compression stockings are very pricey.
Make sure you see your doctor first for a prescription as you can't get the higher compression ones without your doctor's consent.

These are the compression stockings that I use:
Sigvaris Cotton - 30-40 mmHg
These are my 30-40 mmHg Thigh-High Compression Stockings. They are impossible to get on without special gloves. I wear them to special events as they work better than my other stockings. However I find they irritate my legs, particularly behind my knees.

Sigvaris Cushioned Cotton - 20-30 mmHg
These are my newest and favourite stockings. They're made of mostly cotton and are very comfortable. They're also easy to get on and don't require gloves. I also like that they're don't go over my knees, meaning the backs of my knees aren't irritated.

Sigvaris Athletic Recovery - 15-25 mmHg
This was my first pair of compression stockings. They're only 15-25 mmHg and are meant to improve circulation in athletes. They're also below the knee, easy to get on, and very comfortable.
