Had an awesome relaxing day today hanging out with my friend Sarah (who also has POTS). We talked for hours and made friendship bracelets. It's nice to talk to someone who understands really what I'm feeling. Most of our friends have jobs and school during the day, but we're stuck at home having to rest a lot. It's nice that we can keep each other company while just lounging on our couches.

My friend Sarah has been in the news a few times raising awareness about her rare disorder called EDS. She was also recently diagnosed with Autism (at age 20). She sang a song to the tune of "Let it Go" about her feelings on being diagnosed. It's really become a hit on youtube and one of the directors of Frozen even contacted her about it! I'm really proud of her. :) I was all excited today because I finally took our pictures/paintings out of storage and started putting them up! They look really good!
Unfortunately on the last frame, out of no where I got a shooting stomach pain as I was holding it up. I ended up curling up on the floor for about five minutes. Eventually I moved to the couch where it started to get better. What was that all about? Here are some pictures of my accomplishment. :) I don't know what triggers my stomach sometimes, but last night I had such bad nausea. I ended up moving to the couch so I could try to sleep sitting up. Sitting up can really help me, probably because it encourages my stomach to empty a bit faster. Archie came downstairs to look for me after a while. He climbed up my mountain of blankets (I had a fever so naturally I decided to bury myself in blankets) and curled up right in my arms. He hasn't left my side all day. If one thing could cheer me up and distract me, it's him. Thank you Archie. :') I managed to dose off for a bit, but it wasn't until 8am that the nausea got a lot better and then I was able to sleep. I've been just having liquids today, I really don't want to go through that again today. |
