This weekend my husband and I went on a retreat with our church planting team to a cabin by Merit.
The first day, we had a family of four deer (2 babies) grazing around the cabin all afternoon.
The cabin had a pool which was awesome. I got to swim twice!
We had a few short devotional times where we meditated on a verse in the bible, and I was asked to lead one of those sessions. While it was a little challenging due to my difficulty with concentrating, I was so happy to do it. I love the feeling of being able to contribute and feel useful. I talked about Thankfulness and Gratitude, which I will probably blog about later.
I was able to have many naps throughout the weekend, and easily fell asleep on the couch in the middle of everything. Those constant naps helped me, but I also knew I was running on a lot of adrenalin since I was just so excited to be there.
On the last day I woke up with a cold and by the time we got home I was feeling pretty gross. Sometimes colds make me nauseous and last night I was up til 2AM, trying really hard not to throw up. Every time I moved I was so dizzy so I just lay still in bed for hours, too uncomfortable to sleep but to nauseous to watch a show or do something. My POTS also flared up and I not only smashed into furniture twice, but I was starting to get faint while just reclining in bed. I forget how easily I start to faint when I'm fighting a bug.
Today is going to be a rest day, and perhaps tomorrow too. I went into this weekend knowing that I would likely feel pretty sick after it was over, so at least I was prepared for the consequences. And it was worth it of course, 110%!!
All photos (except the deer) were taken by my awesome friend Sheri
