A side effect of my medication, Midodrine, is dizziness. The other night we were rushing around trying to get ready to go to a BBQ with our friends. By the time we got out to the car with all our stuff I was feeling quite disorientated and was looking forward to sitting down. Just as I opened the car door Archie lunged forward to get into the car, but he hit the side of the seat, rolled on his back and fell back onto the cement, landing on his back. Archie has trouble getting into the car often and I usually lift him in, but he had was particularly anxious at that moment about being left behind (he has separation anxiety still) and didn't want to wait for my help. As soon as Archie had righted himself he got up to attempt to jump up again. "Wait!" I cried, lunging forward to help him. Unfortunately I misjudged the car door and hit the corner with my shoulder. I crumpled to the ground, while Archie attempted to jump into the car again. Thankfully this time he was successful. Meanwhile me and my low pain tolerance were on the floor of the garage, trying to catch my breath, cradling my shoulder.
